Time is Flying By

Time has sped up since graduating from undergraduate school! As I told one of my best friends, Christy, seems like it was just the other day all we were concerned about was who our Homecoming date was going to be! Her birthday was yesterday, so of course she was feeling the years going by! I told her 35 is not old...we are just established and our lives are more full with families of our own! But when did all that happen? Dewight and I will celebrate our 6 year Anniversary on Saturday! Hard to believe just six years ago we were committing our lives to each other and to Christ. And now 6 years later we are blessed with our home filled with love for each other and two beautiful children! Our children are amazing and so precious. I am so in love with them! But, the years are passing us by. It is funny how our perception of "old" changes as we ourselves grow older. The other night Tristan was getting out of the tub and said, "how did my hands get so old?" And last night he said, "I am old again" while looking at his hands! If getting old was just the wrinkles in our hands! I would not change this process for the world though. It is exciting and saddening at the same time. I love watching my children grow and at the same time wish I could freeze time just a little or at least pause it when I need to. Like today, I looked at Mia and realized how big she is getting already! Almost 4 months! I wanted to hit the pause button...yet at the same time, because she is almost 4 months she is now smiling, talking, cooing and laughing! I love it! Then there is Tristan! God love him! I am amazed at how much he retains from school and how independet he is becoming. He already has to walk by himself into school and he looks so little trotting off with his big ol' backpack! He is indepedent and confident. I even saw him hurry to catch up to some big kids and start a conversation! That takes some self-confidence! I love that he is able to do that and feel comfortable with himself to do so! WOW! What an amazing kid!

Well, I guess I have pondered how it seems life is flying by and me with it long enough for tonight! But I am enjoying the ride! God really did know what He was doing when He blessed me with so much, especially my wonderful hubby, amazing children, family and friends! I hope ya'll all tke a moment to look at how far we have come and how lucky we are to have made it this far already! Love to you all!!

Big Week!

We have had a big last week! Tristan started Pre-K! He was as cool as a cucumber....breezed right in! He did great his first week and LOVES it! He has stayed on "Green" and has eaten a hotdog for the first time ever and LIKED it! I was so amazed. He has a few girls from his daycare that are also at his school, so that has made the adjustment easier. He plays with Jada everyday! As we were walking in to meet his teacher, Tristan met the principal and told her he was the "real spiderman!" Needless to say between his new Spiderman shoes from Grandma (which he won't take off), being the real spiderman and his curls, he has made quite the impression :)

Before Tristan started Pre-K, my parents came to take care of him his last week at home before starting school. They all had a great time! They had some great bonding time with Tristan and Mia. It made my mornings so much easier, too! I miss having them here. Tristan of course had a ball! Mia smiled and cooed for mom and dad...I think she enjoyed grandma and grandpa! Maybe one day they can live closer and enjoy their grandkids even more!!!

Speaking of Mia, she is smiling and cooing so much! I LOVE it! Her favorite time to talk is in the morning, so when she starts I have to stay awake and talk. I just can't go back to sleep while she is smiling at me! She has such a sweet disposition and is so easy going. It is fun just hanging with her, which is what we have done today. Oh, not too long ago, Dewight and I were watching Zac Brown Band on TV and Mia was so enthralled with them! When I was pregnant, she would kick every time I played them in the car an at the house. So, when she was sitting with Dewight, she couldn't take her eyes off the TV and was moving to the music! I guess she remembered the sound from in utero! Isn't that amazing?! Dewight and Mia sported their Zac Brown sookies!!

I have the best kids EVER!!
